2017 Subaru Legacy
We bought this one new and added the 7 year/ 70K warranty (whichever comes first).$24,320 purchase price. It's a great little car. Because it's on the warranty, I will have Subaru do the oil changes so I have tire rotation and the check-ups to keep the warranty valid.
6187 miles: 6 JUN 17 -- oil change at Don Miller in Madison, WI. Everything good. 8/32 tread depth all tires and 10mm pads on front and 8mm pads on rear brakes,.

ReplyDelete37,917 miles: 21 APR 21 -- oil change at Don Miller in Madison, WI. Rotated tires. Replaced the battery. 7/32 on all tires. 9mm on front and 6mm on rear brake pads. (Note there is some disparity between measurements last time--the pads are obviously not getting thicker).
ReplyDelete40,000 miles: 19 MAY 22 -- Battery died. Took to Don Miller and they put in a new one. I had put just over 2000 miles on this car in a little more than a year. Sitting over winter while we went south probably did it in.
ReplyDelete41,274 miles: 26 MAY 22 -- Recall work done on ignition and shifter. Key was sticking sometimes, which was the recall problem. Fixed at no charge.
ReplyDelete44,448 miles: 4 MAY 23 -- Battery died again. Sat out for the winter while we were south. I am going to have to take it out when we leave and store it in the basement. Replaced, again, at no charge. at Don Miller in Madison, WI.
ReplyDelete44,596 miles: 16 MAY 23 -- oil change at Don Miller in Madison, WI. Tires rotated again. 6/32 tread depth on all tires. 8mm on front and 6mm on rear brake pads. This car is still on the extended warranty through Dec of this year, 2023. It will time out, as we won't have put 70K it.
ReplyDelete6/15/23 Hit a deer on Hw 14. About 10 at night, going about 50 (speed limit was 55) and a small doe jumped out onto the middle of the highway and stopped. I braked and moved the car to the right and she took like one step to go back to the left, where she emerged from. Then she freaked out and tried to run past me in front. I was onto the shoulder as much as I dared and slowing, but she ran into me just behind the driver side fender, went to the pavement under the mirror, and then either bounced up or jumped up and hit the seam between front and rear door, crinkling botrh, of course. Scrambled off and I continued on. Minor damage, but to three pieces. It'll be an expensive fix.

ReplyDeleteOil change and tire rotation at Subaru today. All OK except they say the tires are getting checked sidewalls from just being old. May need replacing. Cabin air filter replaced. This car will go into vacation mode in a week and sit all winter in the garage at the farm.
