BWW Project #36 Re-pack hose bib

BWW Project #36:  Repack Hose Bib

Just a little one, but important and it could have turned into a nightmare, like so many of them do.

Previous owner has extended the north side hose bib through a tube to another bib below the flower garder, but the one above drips and leaks, so you have to step through the flowers to turn it off anyway.

It is caulked against the siding kind of ugly, but the flowers cover it all anyway.

First step: put a washer in the female hose part.  There was none and this caused spurting all around the fitting.  Once that was carefully tightened down with a channel-lock, only dripping around the valve stem remained.

This is a little trickier and requires just a bit of graphite string packing inside, then tightening down the fitting very carefully with the valve completely open.  Voila!  It worked!  Could've turned out different because things wear out and such.
