BWW -- Project #10

 BWW -- Project #10

Not the most difficult project in the world, but an important one nonetheless.  In the south upstairs bedroom there is a walk in closet and the door opens in the direction of the knee-wall from the roof line.  There is very nice wallpaper in this room and it is amazing that the previous owner was able to be careful enough not to let the corner of the door gouge the wallpaper, much less the plaster behind it!

I will not be so lucky, as this is to be my walk in closet.  Fortunately there is an easy fix!

This little device fits on top of one of the hinge pins and only allows the door to open so far before it pushes back against the doorframe.  It is adjustable, as can be seen.  Of course you could overpower it but in that case you are trying to hit the wall.  This will keep incidental motion of the door from exceeding the range set by turning the threaded portion and save the wall!

  1. Added two more hinge-stops! One on my bedroom door and one on Cathy's. There may be more necessary!
