BWW Project #25: Clothes Washer & Dryer
We have been using the previous owner's clothes washer and dryer since they were hooked up by absolutely corroded fittings to bibs that had to be replaced and would have broken if I tried to change them out. Once that job was done, we were able to move the old machines forward and out of the way and our fairly new ones into place.
The old appliances were plugged in to a box on the left side of the deep sink, which does not have a ground fault outlet, and the wires went behind the piping. Not good. I will change the outlet later, but for this installation I bought a heavy duty extension cord of the correct length, went from the light outlet and stapled it above and along the floor joists above, and brought it down to a rack above the machines. It is on the same line as before, so electrically does not see any difference.

ace the kinky old one and we are good to go.
All the little leaks in the laundry area are now gone.
