BWW Project #31: Garage Ceiling Drywall Support
The drywall in the garage is going to need some repair and painting. Most notably, the installer did not put adequate nailers up around the edges and there are corners of sheets that hang down. Someone along the way tried to pin them up with roofing nails and such, but it is not adequate. Our nephew is a painter and is coming down to visit and we will hire him to do some painting. This ceiling is one of the projects, in addition to some ceilings and rooms inside the house. Before letting him at it I needed to do some preparation in the garage so this rose up on the priority list.
I bought 110 feet of 1 X 2 at Menards and brought it to the site. It took only an afternoon with the cordless drill and a stepladder to put up this support system all around. Looks better already and will look great when Ben gets done painting.
