BWW Project #32 Enclose Loose and Hanging Wires in Garage

BWW Project #32:  Enclose Loose and Hanging Wires in Garage

The wires from the garage door opener are just hanging loosely.  I think they were haphazardly tucked into a groove between the drywall sheets.  Other places, they are just flopping around.  Our nephew is going to paint the ceiling and these need to be covered.

Menards sells 8-foot half-tubes that pop open, enclose the wires, snap shut, and adhere to the ceiling.  They can also be cut to proper length and painted.  I got a bunch and went to work on the loose wires going from the garage door opener across the ceiling and down the wall to the controller.  They make little right-angle corners which tuck into the ends of the pieces, enclose the wires, and are held in place by the tubes adhering to the drywall.

The only trick is that, once the protective tape has been peeled off the adhering side, you have to be very careful to get the wires in there and get everything lined up properly before letting the sticky side touch the ceiling.  It isn't that difficult.  There is a protective layer that peels off the paintable tubes as well.

Once the painting was done, it all looked very good.

I was able to continue down and to the left to the point where these wires join with others that go to the optical sensors and which are all firmly attached and bundled.
