BWW Project 25-8: Guest Bathroom Toilet
When we opened the house up and discovered our little "problems" that needed dealing with, the downstairs guest bathroom toilet was one. It filled properly but overfilled a bit and went down the overflow tube. With all we had to do, I simply turned off the supply until it came up on the priority list.
It came up today! I went in there expecting to just make some adjustments to the fill level, but the fill riser with the bulb connected was askew. When I tried to straighten it, it simply broke off!
Off to Ace Hardware and for 14-bucks I got an antisiphon fill tube that doesn't have a float bulb. It extends up to the proper level and then you twist it to lock the level in. I was able to hand tighten it into the hole in the tank and hand tighten the fill riser to it as well.
When I turned on the fill riser, it filled up to just under the overflow tube and stopped. Perfect! No leaks anywhere. Toilet fills and empties perfectly!
