BWW Project 25-7 TDY at Sara's: Door Lockset

BWW Project 25-7:  TDY at Sara's:  Door Lockset'

I have to count small victories nowadays when I am sick.  We have been helping at daughter's old house, getting it ready for listing.  Cathy has been painting and scrubbing like crazy, putting out her usual superhuman amount of work.  I, on the other hand, have days when I am 30% of what was previously normal to 50%.  On the 50% days I can be useful for little skill projects, leaving Aaron free to do big things like clean out the back yard of boards and rubble and take truckloads to the dump.

Sara needs a lockset on the inner door to the living room.  The door to the porch is keyed, so she really only needed a black one to match her other knobs on the inside door that didn't lock.  We picked out one while we were shopping at Menards.

For about the first time in my life, and I needed this to happen, I was able to fit the new knob together through the throw and cinch it up tight to the door covering the old marks and put the cover over the tab without drilling new holes and making a mess.  In addition, the door closed and the throw went into the receiver on the door frame without incident.

Small blessings.
